Job Description
- Assist the Chief Actuary, in providing timely and relevant actuarial, risk management and strategic advice to the Senior Leadership team.
- Maintain currency with ongoing regulatory requirements and monitor future developments.
- Collaborate with the business and Finance to model the financial impact and outcomes of various strategic scenarios to optimise risk / return options.
- Ensure delivery of robust financial and risk information and strategic insights to the businesses.
- Develop methodologies and strategies for monitoring performance and delivering insights to the business so as to drive financial management.
- Support development and implementation of an effective organisation-wide risk awareness and risk management culture.
- Work effectively with ERM to optimise risk/reward outcomes within risk appetite.
- Involvement with “special projects” on an ad hoc basis with delivery of requirements according to agreed budget and timetable.
Requirements:
- FIAA or equivalent qualification.
- Knowledge and experience of Australian insurance and financial services market, including market structure, product, distribution, regulation, and governance processes
- Familiarity with asset-liability management techniques and practices
- Knowledge of the actuarial aspects of the Life Insurance Act 1995, APRA Prudential Standards and all related regulations
- Technical capability / knowledge of Australian actuarial financial reporting and capital standards and economic valuation practices.
