Job Description

This role supports the Senior Pricing Manager in carrying out the pricing and experience analysis for all relevant group corporate products so to ensure that pricing terms meet all relevant corporate and regulatory standards including documentation standards and address customer and business needs.

Responsibilities Include:   

  • Carry out pricing and pricing / experience analysis (quantitative and qualitative) on existing and new business / tenders, and draft and review relevant documents in a timely manner having regard to risks accepted and quality of data / inputs. 

  • Develop, maintain and use/supervise pricing and experience analysis models and quotation database. 

  • Support the Senior Pricing Manager to ensure pricing meets corporate profitability targets and relevant corporate and regulatory standards, including required quality documentation. 

  • Support the Senior Pricing Manager on assessing pricing structures and benefit designs for new products, and proposed product variations, and reinsurance terms. 

  • Meet delivery dates for pricing deliverables.

  • Compile and maintain case files on scheme pricing decisions and assumptions. 

  • Maintain good working knowledge of the relevant product and regulatory environment in Australia.

  • Consult with underwriters, lawyers and claims managers where necessary to support the above.

  • Share knowledge and skills with actuaries and other staff. 

Knowledge and Experience Required:

  • Degree in Actuarial Sciences, mathematics or related field.

  • Up to five years experience working on Australian Life Insurance or relevant actuarial experience. 

  • Minimum requirement: completion of Part I exams, progressing through Part II or Part III.

  • Excellent numerical skills.

  • Skilled with PC Applications such as Excel and Access. Additional programming skills desirable.
