JOB DESCRIPTION
Provision of actuarial, analytical and technical support to the Valuation Actuary for their product line including:
Valuations & reporting: statutory policy liability, monthly profit reporting, value reporting, APRA reporting and production of projected cash flows for ad hoc analysis where required;
Monitor and report business insight on product experience and identify potential trends and issues;
Reviewing and testing of new proposed assumptions’
Actuarial, analytical and technical support includes:
Data preparation, validation and analysis;
Design or assessment of the reasonableness and suitability of models and results prepared;
Documentation and improvement of processes, analysis and investigations undertaken;
Preparation of reports to present results;
Provide support and drive in various strategic projects impacting the Risk business and other teams.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of Prophet (actuarial modelling system) and actuarial modelling strongly preferred;
Knowledge of spreadsheet modelling (Excel) and SQL preferred;
Strong analytical skills and financial modelling capabilities;
Ability to understand broader context of work;
IT skills and knowledge of spreadsheets, databases and data structure;
Work as a team member and communicate effectively (oral & written).
Successfully completed the Actuary Program (formerly Part II) of the qualification requirements of the Actuaries Institute; working towards completing the Fellowship Program (formerly Part III)
